Had a parent-teacher conference with Jesse's first grade teacher last week. Jesse is satisfactory or outstanding in all areas except handwriting. She says he is quiet, gets his work done, and is a joy to have in her class. He also tries to answer in Spanish when he speaks in class, which most kids don't do. Such glowing praise made me try and imagine what Michael's teacher will say in a few years. "Michael needs to work on reading, spelling, math, sitting still, listening to the teacher, finishing his work, not jumping off his chair..."
